How to Set Up Shipping Terms

In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of setting up shipping fees on the Foundation's Seller Portal.

Shipping fees are a critical aspect of your eCommerce operations, impacting both your profitability and your customers' buying experience.

This article will guide you through the process of setting up shipping fees, allowing you to choose the method that best suits your business strategy and customer expectations. By utilizing Foundation, you can effectively manage your shipping fees, providing flexibility for your customers and contributing positively to your bottom line.

Step 1: Log In and Navigate to Brands

Log into the Seller Portal and click on the 'Brands' tab in the left-hand menu. You'll see a brand already created based on the company name you entered during the sign-up process.

Step 2: Go to Shipping Fees

Click on your brand and scroll down to the 'Order Information' section. Here, you'll find the 'Shipping Fees' options.

Step 3: Choose Your Shipping Fee Method

Choose from one of the three shipping fee methods:

  1. Free: This means free shipping for any order value.

  2. Flat Fee: This means a specific shipping fee for any order value, regardless of the order volume or cost. Alternatively, this can be set as the actual shipping cost, which would vary based on the order quantity and volume. The exact fee may not be confirmed at the time of order, but it can be updated later once the seller knows the exact shipping fee.

  3. Order Value Based: This allows you to set up order value tiers. For example, you could set a shipping fee of $20 for orders up to $200 and free shipping for orders above $200. You can set up multiple tiers based on your business strategy.

Step 4: Update Brand

On the right side, you'll see a summary of the brand. Click 'Update' to save your changes.

Step 5: Check the Shipping Fee in the Cart

Go to the storefront and add some items to your cart. In the cart, you'll see the shipping fee. The shipping fee will adjust based on your shipping logic as you change the cart total.

📖If you've set the shipping fee as 'Actual Shipping Cost,’ you can update the shipping fee for an order from the 'Orders' tab. Select the order and update the status to 'Shipped.’ Here, you can add the actual shipping cost.

✔️This will be updated on the Seller Portal, storefront, and invoice.
